What is a wire crimper?

This tool will help your frames last longer. If you find that the wire is loose once you have taken the old comb off the frames, you can tighten the wire by gripping it between the two crimping wheels and drawing it along the wire. The frames will then be ready for new foundation.

Don't throw away old frames, re-wax them.

Some beekeepers are surprised to learn that you can reuse frames after you have spun the honey out of them and even cut the wax away. Tightening up the wire will save you money and make it easier to apply new sheets of wax foundation.

This economy model has a plastic handle with chrome-plated wheels.
