500ml Liquid – Suitable to treat 10 Hives – approx. 50ml per hive

If you’re tackling Varroa mites, Api-Bioxal™ is a solid tool to rotate into your current treatment schedule. This oxalic acid-based treatment delivers over 90% effectiveness in brood-free colonies, giving your bees a much-needed break from mite pressure. It’s a simple, effective knock-down treatment that you can apply in two ways - dribble or vaporisation - so you can choose what works best for your setup.

For best results, use Api-Bioxal™ when there’s little to no brood - either in autumn/winter or after inducing a brood break in summer. Timing matters, as mites hiding in capped brood won’t be affected.

How to Use It

Dribble Method (Best for small-scale beekeepers or when the weather isn’t suitable for vaporisation):

1. Mix Api-Bioxal™ powder with 1:1 sugar syrup as per the pack instructions.

2. Dribble 5ml of the solution between the frames where bees are clustered.

3. Max dose is 50ml per hive.

Vaporisation Method  (Great for treating multiple hives efficiently):

Measure 2.3g of Api-Bioxal™ powder and place it in your vaporiser pan.

Seal hive entrances and ventilation points.

Follow the vaporiser’s instructions - most take about 3 minutes to heat.

Leave the vaporiser in place for 15 minutes before unsealing the hive.

Let it cool before cleaning.

Key Considerations:

Timing is everything, so make sure to treat when there is little to no brood for the best results.

You can apply only two treatments per year, ensuring they are spaced at least five days apart.

Be prepared for a bit of agitation, as the bees won’t love the treatment, but they will recover.

Avoid disturbing the hive for at least 48 hours after treatment to give the bees time to settle.

Safety:

Api-Bioxal™ is effective, but it’s also a Schedule 6 Poison, so handle with care:

Wear proper PPE: Overalls, chemical-resistant gloves, goggles, and (for vaporisation) a half-face respirator with acid gas cartridges.

Avoid skin and eye contact. If it gets on you, wash thoroughly.

Keep it away from water sources - It’s toxic to aquatic life.

In case of poisoning, call 13 11 26 - Do not induce vomiting.

Storage:

Store in a cool, dry place—no refrigeration or freezing required.

Keep out of reach of kids and away from food or stock feed.

Disposing Api-Bioxal™:

For small containers, wrap and bin them.

For larger containers, triple-rinse and follow local regulations, including drumMUSTER recycling if applicable.

Pack Size:

Pre-measured sachets for easy mixing with sugar syrup.
