Made and invented in Australia, Apithor is a 'harbourage' style beetle trap.

Bees tend to chase beetles in the hive, so the Apithor offers the beetles a 'safe space'. Once beetles enter the refuge and contact the chemical impregnated core-flute cardboard, certain death follows.

Active chemical is Fipronil. This chemical has no odour and cannot be detected by the beetles. Fipronil works on the insect's central nervous system and is activated by touch.

Apithors are safe for bees and no chemical residue can be transfered to the honey.

Be careful the Apithor does not become wet.

Regular trap entrance checks net to be made - bees tend to seal trap entrances therefore stopping beetles entering the trap.
